Alex Stedman

Alex started his career in the oil & gas industry, using the knowledge gained from his Physics degree to create images of underground oil reservoirs from seismic data. He travelled all over the world for a number of years, working offshore of nearly all the continents (he’s still got Antarctica to tick off the list!). His interest in finances was born when he was given control of his pension and had to learn how to invest along with all the associated tax planning. Soon, friends and family were asking for his help and he decided to move into Financial Advice to help other people instead of helping to drill for oil. He hasn’t looked back since.

Alex has worked extensively with pensions, educating clients on how they operate and advising them on how to access them in retirement or use them for tax planning. He started a TikTok channel during the Covid lockdowns to combat – what he calls – ‘dire financial advice aimed at young adults,’ and soon amassed a following of 85,000 people. He was invited to be a guest panellist at MorningStar’s UK Investment Conference 2022 and has appeared in numerous publications.
