Alex has a strong technical background, earning a degree in Systems Engineering from the Australian National University in Canberra. After starting his career in engineering, a love of travel led him to London and he transitioned into the financial planning industry, where he has since built a successful career as one of the founding partners of Plutus. Living in the UK has also given him the opportunity to travel extensively across Europe, and he looks forward to exploring even more destinations in the years ahead.
Alex takes an outcome-based approach to financial planning, helping clients build confidence in their future through clear, strategic guidance. He applies his analytical mindset to managing personal tax positions and income planning before and into retirement, using cashflow modelling to illustrate financial scenarios. Having incorporated mortgage advice into his financial planning remit, Alex enjoys advising clients planning for the purchase of their new home or managing their property portfolios, navigating challenges related to interest rates and taxation.

As a proud Australian, his passion for sport often sparks lively (but well-mannered!) discussions, particularly during the autumn internationals or the Ashes. He’s an avid snowboarder, having taken on slopes all over the world—including a full ski season in Canada.
Alex often jokes that marrying into the UK was a big adjustment but pays tribute to his native Australia by trying to ‘elevate’ the typical British BBQ. Between entertaining family and friends, you will find Alex acting as chauffeur to his two energetic sons.
